Wednesday, June 3 was a #blackwednesday for Ghanaians as torrential rains flooded parts of Accra, leading to loss of lives and property. A heavy downpour in the capital city, Accra put many lives in danger as several homes in many parts of Accra were flooded whiles commuters were left stranded as most roads were left immotorable. The rains, which started around 4.30pm and lasted till midnight, caused heavy vehicular traffic at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Spintex, Kaneshie and several other places. Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service has confirmed that over 100 bodies have been retrieved from the debris of the GOIL filling station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra that caught fire during Wednesday’s torrential rains.
