Rising rap star and TLM Records frontman, Lil Mo is back with a brand new banger titled “Nkonim Abotre” featuring Apya.
“Nkonim Abotre”, a Twi word which translates as ‘crown of victory’ is a Hiplife track with a blend of modern Afrobeats sounds.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, Lil Mo said the song’s concept is based on the struggles one goes through in the hands of his/her enemies just to wear the crown of victory.
“The song talks about how enemies are struggling to bring down one whom God has crowned victorious. That is, nothing can be done to one whom God has crowned victorious,” Lil Mo disclosed.
When catechized about the uniqueness of his song despite the fact that there is a bunch of songs with a similar concept in the system, Lil Mo said the song gives hope to the poor and a shock to enemies.
“Mine talks about how someone whom one never expected to make it in life made it,” he said.
Lil Mo continued: “Cast your mind back to villages. When a rich man is not around, matters won’t be addressed.
Because of poverty, the old is rejected and disrespected by family.”
“The motivation here is, the beginning of every legend starts with hardship.
“One who is never respected now have people boasting of knowing him or her way back.
“The song gives hope to the poor. It makes the rich man feels proud how he has swerved poverty to make it in life to shame their enemies,” he said.
He concluded: “It talks about how some people start to hate you in life when your time comes and later call you boss.
“It inspires the one who hasn’t made it yet in life. It stresses on why one shouldn’t envy one who is being hailed today as they don’t know how they started.”
“Nkonim Abotre” is expected to drop on Thursday, July 27.
