Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan has officially confirmed his pal Castro, a hiplife artiste has gone missing in a jet ski accident.
The skipper said Castro, known in private life as Theophilus Tagoe, went missing at the Ada Estuary Sunday July 6.
He has therefore called for support to find his friend and a female colleague Jane Bandu who is feared to have drowned with him.
A statement issued on behalf of Asamoah Gyan and Baffour Gyan by their spokesperson Sammy Anim Addo said the player’s “prayers and support lie firmly with Castro and Miss Jane Bandu and their families”.
A search party including the Marine Division of the Ghana Police Service, Navy, Ada East District Assembly and local divers are frantically combing through the Volta river for the two but returned with an empty yacht today.
“We pray for strength and fortitude for all engaged in the search. And we also call on anyone who has useful information to assist in this quest. God bless us all,” the statement pleaded, adding, “We have made and we continue to make every effort to find them… the two are yet to be found. We are keeping hope alive that the two will eventually be found.”
Recounting how the incident occurred, the statement said: “On Sunday 6 July 2014 we were on holiday in the company of friends and a few acquaintances on the banks of the Volta river shuttling between Peace Holiday Resort and Aqua Safari Resort at Ada when we noticed that our close friend and popular musician, Castro (known in private life as Theophilus Tagoe) had gone missing on the Volta river together with an acquaintance Miss Jane Bandu, who had apparently hitched a ride with Castro on a jet ski rented by Castro.”
Meanwhile hope is fast fading that the two are still alive.
