There are not enough avenues in Ghana for artists to perform and exhibit what they possess. Artists struggle before they get a gig or space to perform. Many usually do not get a venue at all so they perform in their bathrooms and watch what they have in them die. This is the reason why See Calendar was birthed.
See Calendar is here to create an avenue where artists, especially spoken word, poets and musicians can perform to a large audience in order to maximize their reach, exhibit what they have and also touch base with their fans. It was created by Yibor Kojo Yibor, and Mutombo Da Poet, two outspoken and well-known spoken word artists in Ghana.
See Calendar will feature different artists every month and will take place at the Mmofra Park, which is next to Marvels Mini Golf in Dzorwulu, Accra. The first edition will feature Yibor Kojo Yibor, a spoken word artist and the co-founder of the Ehalakasa spoken word movement, Kacey Moore an award winning songwriter and poet who represented Ghana in the Big Brother Africa reality show in 2014 and Mutombo Da Poet, a household name when it comes to spoken word in Ghana.
See Calendar will give artists the platform that will connect them to fans and vice versa. It also aims to bring artists together to collaborate on works and share ideas.
The first edition takes place on Saturday the 13th of February, 2016 at 6pm.
