Ghanaian Afro dancehall artiste Iwan has said that he is still angry with Shatta Movement member Bandana for insulting his mother in his ‘A letter to Iwan’ song.
In the song, Bandana was quoted to have told Iwan to ‘go suck your mother’ which was a direct response to Iwan’s alleged comment on a local radio station that Rastafaria is older than Bandana’s mother and father.
“I did not insult his mother and father because in Ghana, we show a lot of respect for our parents so I don’t understand why he insulted my mother,” Iwan told eTV’s Late Night Celebrity Show host Dzifa.
The beef between Iwan’s ‘No Gideon Force’ crew and Bandana’s ‘Shatta movement’ crew started the musical year in 2013 but both camps have been very mature about it, sharing their grievances in songs and social platform Facebook.
“I am still waiting for Bandana to show his maturity and apologize. I don’t take what he did lightly at all.
But for the advice from some big warts in MUSIGA and some veterans in the industry, I would have responded strongly to his songs,” Iwan revealed to Dzifa.
Since their beef started in January, Iwan and Bandana have not met on any musical platform but entertainment critics say they believe the two will eventually resolve their differences.
