BASS Awards is the first of its kind and the future looks very bright as it touches on one of the most
respected genres in the world of music. It is an established fact that Reggae and Dancehall has made a
tremendous impact among music lovers and the artistes themselves, without doubt, hardly get noticed
or appreciated. The award scheme is specially designed to show gratitude to Reggae and Dancehall
musicians, producers cum industry players in the same genre; and serve as an annual gathering of lovers
of Reggae and Dancehall music, generally top notch entertainment to the public.

The name of the vent was coined from “Rhythms and Bass” (pronounced as Base) which happened to be
the basis for the Reggae and Dancehall genre.
