TGM-Who is StreetKid and how did you get your beginning in the music industry?
StreetKid-My stage name is-SweetKid, I got into music when I was 13 years old back then in the ghetto where I am from. I came from a root called Ajegunle where there are many talented young artistes. Music has been my dream and will always be. Back then music was very hard to get into but it takes time to do a single and the lifestyle the stage performances were local and they were generated without wooden stages although it was a lot of fun. I have an album CD out now and it was completed August 14, 2016 and I am proud to say my audio CD are available in markets and stores. My fans can also buy my music online at PlayStore, Amazon, ITune and other downloading sites.
TGM-Where do you come from?
StreetKid-I come from Delta State, Nigeria but I was brought up in the ghetto.
TGM-Tell me a little about you and your family?
StreetKid-My family and I live together in Italy and we are from Delta State, Nigeria. I am a graduate I finished school in Europe and also have a degree from Nigeria. I love education and that’s why when we came to Italy I decided to go back to school and I read a 5 year course yet my music still continues. I was going to school and combining music together with traveling out for shows and having permission from the school auditoria, it has not been easy but God is the key.
TGM-Who is your inspiration and how did they inspire you?
StreetKid-I have no inspiration because my music style is different and I do my own style. The only inspiration I get is from dancing.
TGM-Any tips for future musicians trying to make it in today’s music industry?
StreetKid-Yes, my advice for upcoming artists is to be real, focus, love your music, believe in yourself and never give up. Remember you are not an upcoming artist as far as you can sing and record you are a star. Like my case I started alone because no one wanted to help me or my music. So I chose to stay below and then I started to pursue my dreams now God is to be praised. I am still doing my music under self management. So my dear artists if I can blow without any record label you can also make it.
TGM-What this song “Not My Head” mean to you and why did you write it?
StreetKid-The title is “Not My Head”, the song means prayers. You know many people don’t want to see others progress, that is why I said “Not My Head” whatever they are planning is not going to work. It was released 09 March, 2017 under my management called AJ Recordz.
TGM-What can we look forward to in the near future from you?
StreetKid-Nearest future…hmmm I have great futures for people in need in which I have already started. Help the needy share my happiness with them. Build a studio, have my own music industry to be able to help the ghetto artists and others.
TGM-As a musician, how do you feel giving back to your community who support you is important?
StreetKid-I love this question, I love my community and my community loves me too. So I am ready to love my community and help develop it more.
