TGM- Who is Evo Kaycee and how did you get your beginning in the music industry?
Evo Kaycee-I am Kenneth ‘John’ Chimason. Music has always been in the family and rap music has always been something I’ve loved, rappers like Eminem, Nas, Phyno have been a great inspiration to my music.
TGM-Where do you come from?
Evo Kaycee-I am from south east Nigeria, Anambra State.
TGM-Tell me a little about you and your family?
Evo Kaycee-I am Kenneth “John” Chimason also known as Evo Kaycee who is a southeastern Nigerian born rapper, music producer, and actor who hails from Oyi South L.G.A. Anambra State. I was born on July 25. 1990 in Kano, due to my rough childhood I have lived the whole length and breadth of Nigeria due to circumstances but finally settled in Lagos in the year 1999 with my Mom and siblings. I am the first of four children to my mother and I have 2 brothers and a sister. I speak English, Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba and Nigerian pidgin English.
TGM-Who is your inspiration and how do they inspire you?
Evo Kaycee-My inspiration revolves around my environment, everything that happens around me inspires me good or bad, I learn from every situation.
TGM-Any tips for future musicians trying to make it in today’s music industry?
Evo Kaycee-My advice for musicians trying to make it in the music industry is this, even if you have all the team in the world it will amount to nothing if you are not hard working. You need to be hard working, push hard and prayers are very necessary.
TGM-What genre of music do you consider your music?
Evo Kaycee-I do rap music with a little bit of rock too so rap n rock basically just like “Linkin Park.”
TGM-What does song “Mama Erigom” mean to you and why did you write it?
Evo Kaycee-The name of this song is “Mama Erigom” it means Mama I’ve made it. I looked at my back ground and realized how amazing it is when you have made it from the bottom and I decided to write a song dedicated to my Mum and every Mother out there striving hard to take care of their kids.
TGM-What can we look forward to in the near future from you?
Evo Kaycee-I am dropping a video for this song “Mama Erigom” sooner or later this year and I am dropping more materials out there surely.
TGM-As a musician, how do you feel giving back to you community who support you is important?
Evo Kaycee-Giving back to the community that supported me is a necessity cos I don’t forget where I am from, where I am going and where I am now.
TGM-Where do you see yourself in the music industry in 5 years?
Evo Kaycee-World Music Domination.
