Fembi-“Sorry”

TGM-Who is Fembi and how did you get your beginning in the music industry?

Fembi-My stage name is Fembi, I started music in secondary school when my Mum left my Dad.  I was trying to sing a song dedicated to her, my inspiration for that song came from Akon mostly at that time.

TGM-Where do you come from?

Fembi-I hail from Ogun State, Nigeria.

TGM-Tell me a little about you and your family?

Fembi-I am from a polygamous family, I am the second child of the house and I am now 25 years of age, presently in final year of School of Technology LAUTECH with second class upper credit.

TGM-Who is your inspiration and how do they inspire you?

Fembi-Akon, Rihanna and Michael Jackson are my role models, they inspire me a lot when I listen to them, I mean I have a connection with them in the spirit thru their music.

TGM-Any tips for future musicians trying to make it in today’s music industry?

Fembi-Artists trying to make it in the music industry they should learn how to be obedient, industrious, consistent, and have a hustlers heart i.e.;  they should keep moving until the good days start to come their way.

TGM-What genre of music do you consider your music?

Fembi-I consider my music to be Afro Pop, Hi-Life and Reggae, they make me whole because that’s what I can do even while I am sleeping.

TGM-What does “Sorry” mean to you and why did you write it?

Fembi-This song means myself, my character, my signature a particular you of me that I am trying to communicate to people, preaching so to say all.

TGM-What can we look forward to in the near future from you?

Fembi-Though nobody can say tomorrow with confidentiality, but to me everyone tomorrow is today, we better get it good starting from today in order to make my music ring in peoples minds forever. To answer it all I want is everyone to expect my better self in the nearest future, with love, peace, joy and unity we can make the world a better place.

TGM-As a musician, how do you feel giving back to your community who support you is important?

Fembi-Did you just say community who supports me? No, I don’t consider them as a supporter or fans, they are my reals self because they made me whole, they are behind the ringing name “Fembi”..they are my mother, my brothers, my sisters, my family my people. Okay, seriously only people like me that have passed through a sorrow lane can understand what orphanage means, talking of all, if I have the chance, I will partake in an empowerment program, schooling, shelter, handwork provisions, and so more to say short because of our time of course everyone cannot be equal but we can eradicate poverty, yes only I cannot change the world if anyone say so, but together we can all make a difference in the world.

TGM-Where do you see yourself in the music industry in 5 years?

Fembi-I see myself taking over the entire universe with music, I don’t see music as a competition but I believe with the little I have and with the love of my people we will get there.
