In Europe & America where showbiz means business and in fact, everything, both upcoming and mainstream acts can decide not to release a single track in a whole year but will manage to supersede their annual income with just soundtracks for movies.
Even if they don’t want to record soundtracks, movie producers find every feasible way to convince them to record and pay them huge. There’s no way producers can steal songs as soundtracks for their movies. If they dare, they law will catch them and they will be asked to pay huge sum of money to the copyright owner (artiste). How can’t they get rich?
But in Ghana where showbiz means nothing, Kumawood and Ghallywood movie producers will steal foreign and local tracks, and use them as soundtracks for their horrible movies and still manage to make some decent cash from it. They can’t do this to my act AJ Nelson because I will kill them.
A musician must always benefit from his talent because that is the only way they can survive. Denying them of their daily bread due to your selfish interest will do nothing than destroy their talents and career.
It’s time Ghanaian artistes begin to eat better food and make something meaningful with their talents. It’s time we fight against this act.
We can’t rely on Obour because our 2 million cedis is still inside his pot belly and not ready to vomit it out. Let’s stand up family and save our musicians NOW!!!
