She has been the topmost and most successful songstress in Uganda and East Africa as a whole. This model has a total of 17 different awards plus African highly rated Kora Awards to her credit since her exposure in 2005. She’s admired by millions of fans across Africa and worldwide.
Having achieved such a great fame, she has managed to collaborate with high profile artistes in Africa including our own Ghanaian born Jay Ghartey. She featured Jay on his award winning “My Lady” remix and his latest fast rotating ballad “Love You Better”.
According to our records, this songbird has the highest collaborations and nominations in East Africa. After her last “Up-close & Personal Concert” held at Serena (Victoria Hall) last year, attracting more fans to her family, she has managed to keep her standards.
We got linked with her some few weeks ago and she decided to pour out all about herself. This is what she has to tell everyone about her life, music career and some personal issues.
“I was born Juliana Kanyomozi Miriam. I come from western Uganda but was raised in the capital Kampala. I started recording music in 2000 while in my secondary school.
But my big break in Ugandan music came in 2005 when I released a song called “Nabikowa” (I Got Fade Up). Ever since that time my career has grown over the years.
When I’m not out performing, I’m at home being a mother to my lovely son Keron. I’m a single mother :-).
I’ve been involved in a lot of charity work as well. When I’m not working I read a lot of books and watch lots of movies.”
Juliana is set to unleash new single release for 2014 titled ‘Olibeera Nange’ which means “You will be with me”
